The Poet Noire herself
Author Info
" If there is a book you really want to read but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it!" ~Toni Morrison
Name: Britany Elise Rickett
D.O.B: 12.27.88
Hometown: Houston, Texas
Sign: Capricorn
Unorthodox by nature, yet meticulously structured
Tenacious and driven, yet graciously refined
Britany Elise Rickett is a driven, eccentric film-head from Houston, Texas. She created The Poetics Noire: Volume I as a response to her constant rejection by traditional publishing houses. After years of thinking her thoughts and writing were inadequate, she started releasing poetry again through the popular website, Facebook. Due to the responses from those who read her work, Britany realized that she can relate to the life changes and emotions of vastly different people through her poetry. With the evolution of race relations in the United States, Britany hopes to bring more minority voices to the table via poetry to help rid the stereotypical images that are so heavily portrayed in the media.
